Just got back from seeing the Punisher. WOW is the only word that I can get out.
This movie far exceeded my expectation. I was really worried because I had seen
Hellboy. I know the critics were really impressed. I was left with a disappointed feeling. Anyway back to the man with the skull on his chest.
The punisher is a Marvel comic book character. The movie is the story of a retired FBI agent whose family is killed and now he is out for blood.
While the movie doesn’t exactly follow the comic book story line, It’s close enough for me.
Let me say the main reason I loved this movie is because of the Villains. In most hero-based moves the hero’s biggest downfall is the weakness of the Arch Enemy. They all seem to lack the resolve to go the distance. Without a true nemesis to rise against the hero don’t seem to reach their true potential. Hellboy is a good example of this. Well the villains in the Punisher will most definitely have reserved seats in a special place in Hell. I mean John Travolta is no King Ping, but he was masterful in his role.
What can I say; I cannot wait for the DVD so I can watch this movie a few hundred times.
